So it wasn't a fractured metatarsal, merely a bruised foot (which matches my bruised ego). I kind of hoped it was the former as it was more of an excuse to drag behind when the going got tough. Anyway, my foot is recovering well, well enough almost for another 10 miles this weekend (although I only actually did 9.5 miles, 10 sounded a better headline). As it's pouring down outside now, and is most likely to stay this way for the next 5/10/20/100 (delete where applicable) days, it looks like the long awaited Roseberry Topping walk will have to be put on hold a little longer. This weekend is looking like a jolly out to the Riverside Stadium and back, and seen as though the Boro are away, thankfully I won't be given a kit and asked to make up the numbers.
Plans are firming up a little in that (in my head) the Coast to Coast will be walked in the last week of May next year, which is a Bank Holiday week. In the literal sense though, one step at a time, and I have got to manage 10 miles without moaning first, and have a quicker 'recovery' time. Anyway, here's to week two!
*The foot shown in the picture is not my actual foot, merely a recreation of how it felt on Tuesday
