So I had all my gear ready like a kid at Christmas! Everything was in the bedroom set up - clothes to walk in, as well as my new socks, shoes and hydration pack. I got out of the shower and dressed, ready for church. I was under the assumption that once you had wore one pair of shoes you were more or less used to any kind, obviously not....I put my new walking boots on upstairs and then proceeded to fall down the stairs and walk into a wall. It was almost like a scene from Wallace & Gromit! Determined to put this incident behind me I tried to fill my camel pack up, resulting in orange juice being spilt all over the kitchen. All in all, an unsuccessful morning - at least I remembered about putting the clock back!
Anyway, the planned walking today never quite went according to the plan....following a parish hall cake stall visit, a gathering of Halloween props, a Sunday afternoon dash round Tesco and a free lunch in The Fairfield with Mam, Dad & Isaac I decided today wasn't meant to be for walking. I also realised that there was some sort of film on the soles of my shoes which needed to be 'walked in' before I done a decent walk, as it was quite slippery in the wet weather.
So it has not quite been the day I had planned but I've enjoyed it. Just settling down now to watch The Godfather before I go to bed, hoping to wake up next to Nat and not a horses head!
Come here and there's more, I say that in true Jimmy Cricket style as I have just looked down and realised my new socks actually have an 'L' and an 'R' on for the dedicated feet! Top class, and to think I just put them on any foot this morning (and guessed right!).
